The solution? CAMI Educational Software

In Gauteng, nearly 70% of grade 3 learners can't read or count. Basic Education Minister Angie Motshekga described the results as "very sad". "Provincial performance in these two areas (literacy and numeracy) is between 19 percent and 43 percent, the highest being the Western Cape and the lowest being Mpumalanga." Professor Sarah Gravett, the Dean of Education from the University of Johannesburg, explained that it is also important that learners should read and identify words but most importantly, they should understand what they are reading.

The solution?

CAMI Educational Software

The CAMI Maths and CAMI Reader programs are developed to enhance the literacy and numeracy skills of learners from grade R - grade 12.  CAMI programs comply with the new South African CAPS curriculum.  CAMI Perceptual Skills Builder is essential to shape and develop perceptual skills necessary to enhance reading and mathematics skills. Learners from poor socio-economic backgrounds that never had the opportunity to attend a pre-school, benefit enormously from the CAMI Perceptual program. Audio is added to exercises to improve navigation within the program.

CAMI is easy to use!

Navigation within the software is simple and computer literacy is not a pre-requisite

CAMI really works!

CAMI is being used in more than 900 schools in the Western Cape. As mentioned in the article of The Star, this province also performed the best in the countrywide numeracy and literacy assessment.
